Brown Brothers Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon (King Valley) 2015

Depth and elegance combine here in an alluring style that is a signature of great Victorian Cabernet.

It has strong colour and tannin development with lifted varietal notes of blackcurrant and spice.

Cellared correctly, this wine will mature nicely in the bottle over the next ten years.  

 

Vineyard Region:Victoria (Wrattonbully 32%, Bendigo 32%, King Valley 30% and Great Western 6%)
Wine Analysis:Alc/Vol: 14.5%
Colour:The Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon is an an inky purple-black colour.
Aroma:It displays aromas of cassis and savoury herbs, while the French oak influence offers a gentle ‘cigar box lift’ to the nose.
Palate:On the palate the wine is powerful and intense with highlighted characters of blckcurrant, berry spices and dried leaf. It has good length and is well structured with ripe flavours and a seamless elegant finish.
Peak Drinking:Until 2029

 

Vegan friendly

 

Recommended food pairings: This concentrated red wine would make a great partner to soy marinated wagyu beef on ginger broccolini and potato gratin.

It could also be enjoyed with a selection of aged cheddar cheese at the end of a meal.

 

Growing Conditions: The fruit was harvested in March 2015 with a range of picking baumes.

Winemaking notes: The wine was destemmed and crushed to open top fermenters in the Kindergarten Winery.

The wine spent 20 months in 48% new and the balance older French oak barriques.

A number of blending trials took place to produce a very intense and powerful wine from a low yielding vines.
