Woodpark Reserve Shiraz (King Valley) 2014
Colour: Ruby Red
Nose: Notes of cherries and slight peppery, spicy, aniseed characters.
Palate: Rich with concentrated dark fruit with well integrated but restrained oak which will continue to soften over the next 5-8 years. A silky and elegant cool climate Shiraz.
This Shiraz comes from selected hand picked fruit on the Wood Park home vineyard at Kneebone’s Gap. The selected Shiraz vines are pruned to produce a low yield to aid full ripening and flavor development. The fruit is then crushed and fermented with regular hand plunging to extract the full flavours and rich colour.
This wine has had an extended oak maturation for 20 months in carefully chosen premium French Oak barriques, which has added to it’s depth and complexity, as well as the ability to cellar well into the future.
